Hi, my name is Jerrica, and welcome to my blog! I created Courtesy Of Jerrica to share my passions of beauty and lifestyle. As an incoming 1st year medical student, I not only wish to help others navigate the trying realm of medicine but invoke change in any aspect of their lives.
Humble Beginnings
As a child, I struggled with loving myself. Growing up with a cleft lip left holes in my self-esteem that would take years to fill. It was undergoing one surgery after another as a child. It was as if I was hauling this bolder over my head while undergoing these recurrent procedures. I thought it was an impediment that I would have to endure all my life. Bearing the name-calling, the ridicule, and not appearing “normal” was something that would plague me as I lived.
However, I now see my cleft entirely differently. Now, it’s a spark of inspiration for me, inspiring me to become a physician.
Along this path of embracing my cleft and pursuing medicine, I started my journey towards self-acceptance. From my experiences, I have built my self-confidence far beyond what I imagined as a little girl. Each day, I continue to blossom into a more loving version of myself, and I hope to take you along my journey.
I hope to share my passions and hobbies with you by creating this blog. From beauty, aesthetics, lifestyle to medicine, I hope to inspire and elevate you in various parts of your life.
